What kills more, speeding or speed limits set too high? I break down an article I saw titled, “Stop Driving 5 Miles per Hour Over the Speed Limit. You're contributing to America's addiction to speeding—and you're much more likely to kill someone.” It was written by Eben Weiss in Outside magazine. Eben also is known as the bike snob…the title of his blog. Also, General Motors is getting into the car insurance business. I open the mail bag to answer an interesting question about crash barrels filled with liquid and you can now drive in Colorado, virtually. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

Does more money equal better road infrastructure? That is the question MoneyGeek set out to answer in their study: “Road Conditions and Spending by State: Does More Money Mean Better Roads?”. I talk to Doug Milnes, the head of data analytics for MoneyGeek to talk about it. Have you heard of the drive until you run out of gas challenge? It is a thing. How do different toll agencies police their toll roads? And we get into the mail bag. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

California has a plan to only have new electric vehicles for sale by 2035. Is that plan possible? It will mean advancements in battery technology. One company working on making sure batteries stay cool and don’t catch on fire is KULR Technologies. Today I speak with CEO and co-founder of KULR Technologies, Michael Mo about their technology and the future of electric cars on the roads. Also the city of Boulder wants to take electricity from cars as well as provide it and another example of cars doing things that should be attributed to people. There are apps for just about everything, even for learning how to drive. I go to Sweden to speak to Leo Waldenback, the co-founder and head of growth for Zutobi, the app that helps new drivers learn the rules of the road. The link to the website and app is below. Also the Florida Highway Patrol is using semi trucks to catch speeders. And maybe dogs are the key to a good covid test. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

Did you see the first ever human test of the hyperloop? I think that warrants revisiting my interview with Dave Clute with the Hyperloop Advanced Research Partnership about all things hyperloop. Also, do you miss your daily commute? Lots of people do and are faking it to feel normal again. Taking off your pants on a flight after puking on yourself is no way to impress the flight crew. How bad would nuclear war be on shrimp fishing? And I answer some listener mail. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

Plus what are the top 10 best auto insurance companies to deal with? I speak with Nick Dehn, auto insurance expert and Content Specialist for the online price comparison site Insurify about all these things and more. One of the problems with navigation software is the reliance on crowdsourced or late input data into the system. There is a company that believes they have solved part of the problem by creating a way for official sources to input real time road closures or lane closures or other roadway restrictions in real time that is then delivered to your favorite traffic app. The small UK tech company is called One.Network and they have a traffic operations software that they developed that can help all of us as we drive. One.Network's Founder/CEO James Harris and their Chief Commercial Officer Simon Topp joins me from London to talk all about their platform and what it means to you while you are driving. And after 7 months working from home I am out of the basement and back in the studio. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.
