There are apps for just about everything, even for learning how to drive. I go to Sweden to speak to Leo Waldenback, the co-founder and head of growth for Zutobi, the app that helps new drivers learn the rules of the road. The link to the website and app is below. Also the Florida Highway Patrol is using semi trucks to catch speeders. And maybe dogs are the key to a good covid test. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

Did you see the first ever human test of the hyperloop? I think that warrants revisiting my interview with Dave Clute with the Hyperloop Advanced Research Partnership about all things hyperloop. Also, do you miss your daily commute? Lots of people do and are faking it to feel normal again. Taking off your pants on a flight after puking on yourself is no way to impress the flight crew. How bad would nuclear war be on shrimp fishing? And I answer some listener mail. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

Auto insurance is something we have to have but it is also something that we hate to deal with. What are the trends in auto insurance during this pandemic and when it is over? Plus what are the top 10 best auto insurance companies to deal with? I speak with Nick Dehn, auto insurance expert and Content Specialist for the online price comparison site Insurify about all these things and more. It is time we start saying people crash cars and not cars crash cars. I’ll explain what I mean. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

E184 - This is really a game changer in real time traffic information

E184 - This is really a game changer in real time traffic information

October 28, 2020

One of the problems with navigation software is the reliance on crowdsourced or late input data into the system. There is a company that believes they have solved part of the problem by creating a way for official sources to input real time road closures or lane closures or other roadway restrictions in real time that is then delivered to your favorite traffic app. The small UK tech company is called One.Network and they have a traffic operations software that they developed that can help all of us as we drive. One.Network's Founder/CEO James Harris and their Chief Commercial Officer Simon Topp joins me from London to talk all about their platform and what it means to you while you are driving. And after 7 months working from home I am out of the basement and back in the studio. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

E181 - Should cities make their downtown urban core void of cars?

September 30, 2020

After the last episode, I was taken to task by software developer, founding member of the Denver Bicycle Lobby and creator of the website called NoSquish.com Rob Toftness for my comments about the desire of city planners and leaders to make it so inconvenient to drive a car in those areas that you won’t do it anymore. I asked Rob to be on the show and he agreed to give us his perspective on how cities are changing into biking cities. Also, who pays if you crash a car while on a test drive? E180 - In the inverted transportation pyramid, cars are the equivalent of junk food

September 9, 2020

Are cars just junk food? Some city planners think so. Is your car under a recall? How would you know? When you are hot in a plane remember it isn’t k to take a stroll on the wing to cool off. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

David Ramsey, columnist with the Colorado Springs gazette wrote an article recently titled COVID-19.. a roadblock to the Great American Road Trip. We will get his take on the road trip and why he thinks it is dead. How much money does the TSA keep from passengers who leave their money behind? Enough to make you rich. And why did the chicken cross the road? All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.
