What if there was a product that would automatically stop a driver from texting or surfing social media while driving? There is such a product but it isn’t widely known or used because the wireless carriers are throwing up roadblocks. It is an interesting, and tragic story told by Scott Tibbitts, CEO and Founder of Katasi and creator of the anti-texting product called Groove. We have another disaster after someone reclined their seat on an airplane. What is it like to take a ride-along with local police. Jayson did it and describes what happened. And it is easier to fool Tesla’s autopilot than you think. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

E160 - Talking traffic with Jon Rudder
Thursday Feb 27, 2020
Thursday Feb 27, 2020
We are again talking traffic, this time with Jon Rudder, traffic anchor and helicopter reporter for WEWS-TV, NewsChannel5 in Cleveland. Jon tells us about what is happening on the roads and in the air above Cleveland. We share a voicemail (303-832-0217) about a suggested safety message that could go on a DOT message board. If you have plans on scamming your way onto the HOV lanes, here is one way not to do it. To recline your airline seat or not, that is the question. Do you have your real ID yet? You better get one soon. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

E159 - Stop messing with standard time
Thursday Feb 20, 2020
Thursday Feb 20, 2020
We all know the time change messes up our sleep. That also increases our risk of being in a crash and even worse, a fatal crash. So says new research from our guest Dr Celine Vetter, the senior author for A Chronobiological Evaluation of the Acute Effects of Daylight Saving Time on Traffic Accident Risk. https://www.cell.com/current-biology/fulltext/S0960-9822(19)31678-1#%20
What if you had your car taken away if you get too many red light tickets? It’s an idea in NYC that they hope will change driver behavior. Don’t show up drunk to your DUI court date. What are the most stolen cars? And we open up the voicemail bag. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

Big Al has been in radio and TV since the days of Chareton Heston and knows all about what is going on in Tucson and southern Arizona. We open the mail bag. Where are you big truck guy? E157 - Talking traffic with Rebecca Schleicher
Thursday Feb 06, 2020
Thursday Feb 06, 2020
It is time to again talk traffic, this time with Rebecca Schleicher, traffic anchor and transportation reporter for NewsChannel5 in Nashville, Tennessee. Rebecca tells us about the rapid growth in middle Tennessee, the added congestion, the lack of transit and her feelings about people who don't know how to use traffic circles. This is the beginning of the end to emotional support animals on planes. One artist tricked Google into reporting a phantom traffic jam caused by 99 cell phones and a little red wagon. No sir, you can’t take your mothers drivers test for her. And you might get arrested if you lead your asses down the middle of the street. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

E156 - Talking traffic with Ann Marie
Thursday Jan 30, 2020
Thursday Jan 30, 2020
It’s time to talk traffic with traffic anchor Anne Marie LaFlamme from our Scripps station WXYZ in Detroit. We get to know Anne Marie and find out what the biggest traffic and transit issues are in the motor city. When trying to scam a ride in the HOV lane, you might want to dress up the skeleton. No sir, you can not put your license plate on upside down because you think it looks cool. Should we allow emojis on our license plates? Why not team logos or pictures or other images? And the Wienermobile isn’t relishing this news. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

E155 - No one wants to see traffic on Snapchat Brenda
Thursday Jan 23, 2020
Thursday Jan 23, 2020
Hey, what do you know. Joseph is back from his month long hiatus. One drunk driver made it very easy for the cops to find him. Australia authorities have enacted a wildly high fine against drivers who may start a wildfire. Do higher speed limits kill or are people just driving faster no matter what the limit is? Police in one state now are not allowed to ask any questions of you except for what they pulled you over for. How does that affect what they do and you as a driver? And the Georgia Department of Transportation held a contest looking for the best highway sign messages. We go through the winners and losers so you can decide what is good and bad. E154 - That is the next level of parking
Thursday Jan 16, 2020
Thursday Jan 16, 2020
Sitting in again as co-host is Nicole Brady. What is the future of parking? We invited Dan Roarty, President and COO of Arrive. Arrive describes itself as the leading provider of solutions for the last-mile of mobility. They power the apps ParkWhiz and BestParking allowing people to find and book parking spots. We debunk several winter driving hacks put out by AllState Insurance. Could it be the end of the drive as fast as you want autobahn? More cities are partnering with Waze to help drivers navigate trouble spots in their cities. Some very smart scientists think they can change truck exhaust into liquid fuel. And another reason to own a dash cam, getting out of a ticket. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.
