E156 - Talking traffic with Ann Marie
Thursday Jan 30, 2020
Thursday Jan 30, 2020
It’s time to talk traffic with traffic anchor Anne Marie LaFlamme from our Scripps station WXYZ in Detroit. We get to know Anne Marie and find out what the biggest traffic and transit issues are in the motor city. When trying to scam a ride in the HOV lane, you might want to dress up the skeleton. No sir, you can not put your license plate on upside down because you think it looks cool. Should we allow emojis on our license plates? Why not team logos or pictures or other images? And the Wienermobile isn’t relishing this news. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

E155 - No one wants to see traffic on Snapchat Brenda
Thursday Jan 23, 2020
Thursday Jan 23, 2020
Hey, what do you know. Joseph is back from his month long hiatus. One drunk driver made it very easy for the cops to find him. Australia authorities have enacted a wildly high fine against drivers who may start a wildfire. Do higher speed limits kill or are people just driving faster no matter what the limit is? Police in one state now are not allowed to ask any questions of you except for what they pulled you over for. How does that affect what they do and you as a driver? And the Georgia Department of Transportation held a contest looking for the best highway sign messages. We go through the winners and losers so you can decide what is good and bad. E154 - That is the next level of parking
Thursday Jan 16, 2020
Thursday Jan 16, 2020
Sitting in again as co-host is Nicole Brady. What is the future of parking? We invited Dan Roarty, President and COO of Arrive. Arrive describes itself as the leading provider of solutions for the last-mile of mobility. They power the apps ParkWhiz and BestParking allowing people to find and book parking spots. We debunk several winter driving hacks put out by AllState Insurance. Could it be the end of the drive as fast as you want autobahn? More cities are partnering with Waze to help drivers navigate trouble spots in their cities. Some very smart scientists think they can change truck exhaust into liquid fuel. And another reason to own a dash cam, getting out of a ticket. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

E153 - Jayson kills it on a Las Vegas tram
Wednesday Jan 08, 2020
Wednesday Jan 08, 2020
What are some of the newest and coolest technologies in the transportation world revealed at the CES show in Las Vegas? We have all the details from ABC Radio Correspondent Alex Stone who was at the show. We have a followup to an article and interview from last week about truckers and if they should be required to either drive only at night or only in the right lane. How do you dress when you take a flight? And we answer an unanswerable question from the mail bag. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

E152 - Should trucks be restricted to only night time hours or just the right lane?
Thursday Dec 19, 2019
Thursday Dec 19, 2019
It is time to again talk trucking. After being accused of hating trucks and truck drivers, I invited Andrea Marks, Communications Director for TruckerNation to be on the show to talk about two ideas viewers sent to me. One was asking if trucks should only drive at night while another viewer asked if trucks should only drive in the right lane all to reduce traffic during rush hours. Andrea answers those questions and more as we talk about several issues facing the trucking industry. There are spoiled kids and then there is this kid. Spirit airlines is trying to get better doing things they should have been doing all along. And it is fine if you want to get on a bus but just leave me home. E151 - How old is too old to drive
Thursday Dec 12, 2019
Thursday Dec 12, 2019
How old is too old to drive? We’ve talked about it in the past but we will get more into it with Maile Gray, executive director of Drive Smart Colorado. Kansas City transit is going free. When you think you might be in a police chase fill up first. If you have a KIA, lock that car or get a club because thieves are looking for you. We answer some viewer mail. E150 - We'll have to politely pass on this one
Wednesday Dec 04, 2019
Wednesday Dec 04, 2019
For the first time ever we have been denied for an interview request. The story is about how DOT’s around the country are selling your personal data for money. A practice that many think is wrong and should stop. The cannonball run has a new speed record. No, not by Burt Renyolds. And we open the listener mail bag. There is a new study that finds that the water on board most major airlines that is served to passengers is so unsafe that you shouldn’t even wash your hands with it. The shocking discovery was made by Hunter College’s Food Policy Center and Diet-Detective.com, who investigated the water quality of 23 different US airlines. I interviewed Dr Charles Platkin, the Executive Director of Hunter College’s NYC Food Policy Center to talk more about this. Tesla has a futuristic truck with a major demonstration fail. What are the best large and medium sized airports in the country? And we open the mail bag. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

E148 - If the driver is distracted then any accident could be argued an on-purpose
Thursday Nov 21, 2019
Thursday Nov 21, 2019
Should we increase fines for distracted driving or install more red light cameras and take the revenue to improve intersection safety? That is the argument we discuss after reading an article suggesting more red light cameras makes cities safer. Some people should not start off a phone conversation with the “hey, it’s me”. Why were you speeding sir? I was trying to get home after spending time with my mistress. And the regular guy should be off on holidays. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.

E147 - Is it time for public trasit to be free?
Thursday Nov 14, 2019
Thursday Nov 14, 2019
What would it look like if every city had free transit? Would you ride it more often? What would it cost? Is it a worthwhile idea? One person who has looked into this idea is Rosalie Ray. Rosalie is a Ph.D. student in Urban Planning at Columbia University. She received her B.A. in Economics from Smith College and her Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from UCLA. Before going to UCLA, she worked as an economist at the U.S. Department of Transportation. Rosalie’s past research explored the prospects of fare-free transit in the United States and that includes a chapter in the book… Free Public Transit: And Why We Don't Pay to Ride Elevators. Is that a chicken on your shoulder or are you just driving drunk? And this has to be one of the most head scratching stories we have ever talked about. The tale of the cat switcheroo.
